The more advanced processes of meta work, such as delicate embossing chasing, and enamelling, require an extensive outfit, but a great deal that is very decorative can be done with a very small equipment The following is a list of the necessary tools: -
Small pair of metal shears.
Round-faced steel hammer, medium size.
Hard-wood mallet.
Round file.
Round pliers.
Flat pliers.
Medium wood rough file.
Small rivet set.
Nail set.
The materials that will be required are: -
A metal vice.
Several sheets of fine emery-paper.
Several sheets of brass.
Several sheets of copper.
Several sizes of wire nails. Metal block for riveting. Hard-wood block. Soft-wood block.
