A large fur that is to be reduced to half its original size may be cut in the following manner. First prepare the pattern to which the skin is to be cut. Place the skin, fur side down, upon the table, arrange the pattern on the skin, and mark out with pencil chalk, or crayon. Then cut with a sharp knife (scissors must not be used, as they will spoil the furl, being careful that the knife cuts only through the skin and not the underlying fur. Keep all the pieces tor corners or places which the pattern does not quite cover.
