To make an alcoholic solution of gelatine to be used as a mountant for glazed prints, cover with water 1 oz. of gelatine, and allow to stand till quite soft; then melt down in a steam bath. While hot, add sufficient spirit of wine till the liquid just begins to appear cloudy; if too much is added, the gelatine will precipitate out.
