In re-dyeing black canvas shoes that have worn white, well wash them, allow to dry, and then apply one or two coats of a solution made as follows. Put a quarter of a pint of methylated spirit into a bottle, then add 1 oz. of extract of logwood (2d.) and twopennyworth of tincture of steel. When dissolved, fill the bottle up with water; shake well before using.
