Fig. 1 shows a side view of an umbrella-maker's stock knife, A being the cutting edge of the blade, and B the handle. An ordinary-eye-bolt is put through the bench in a convenient position and secured by a nut underneath. The hook C (Fig. 1) fits into the eye of the bolt. A piece of hard wood should be fitted to take the cutting edge of the knife. Fig. 2 shows the shape of the knife handle. This tool is used for cutting the ends of sticks to fit the ferrules, which should always be shouldered on.
