A little flute, made of box or other hard wood, with an ivory mouth-piece, and having six holes besides the one at bottom, and one behind the neck. Great improvements were made in this pleasing instrument by the late Mr. Bainbridge, who also invented the double flageolet, upon which one person may play duets.
