The native indurated carbonate of lime is usually distinguished by this name; but Professor Jamieson considers it as a genus of minerals, which he divides into four species; namely, Rhomb-spar, Dolomite, Limestone, and Arragonite; the third species, limestone, he divides into twelve sub-species, and these again into several kinds.
