A juice drawn from various kinds of palms, by cutting off such branches as nature intended to bear fruit, and receiving from the wound the sap designed for the nourishment of the future crop. This juice being fermented and distilled with some other ingredients, forms the celebrated spirituous liquor called arrack or rack.
