All customers' securities received are usually registered on blotters or journals giving generally:
Date
Security numbers
Par value
Description
From whom received
For whose account
Disposition. All securities removed from vaults are likewise registered, usually on different registers, giving essentially the same information, except that they would show to whom delivered instead of from whom received, and so on. From these registers or journals, postings are made to ledgers and cross reference security index cards which will be explained.
