Family, Caper. Color, white or crimson. Calyx, 4-cleft. Corolla, of 4 petals on long claws. Stamens, 6, equal in length, with very long, thread-like filaments. Pistil, a very long stalk, at the end of which the seed-vessel is borne. Pod, long, many-seeded. Leaves, long-petioled, much cut, the leaflets 5 to 7, finely serrate, lance-shaped.
A showy flower found in many gardens, also here and there escaped from cultivation.
