Cinquefoils are very numerous in the mountain regions, and somewhat resemble buttercups. The Tall Cinque foil is a fine showy plant, its white flowers growing in a cluster and having five petals; the stalks are hairy and have many leaves growing up them. All the other Cinquefoils have yellow flowers except P. palustris, which has purple ones.
