Lamia was a celebrated sea-monster. The flowers of this genus have a considerable resemblance to the grotesque figure of some beast. Most of the species are ugly weeds.
Lamium rugosom, or Rough-leaved Lamium, produces clusters of its curious white flowers all the season, and is suitable for rock-work. The odor of the plant is rather unpleasant.
