Mimulus ringens. Figwort Family. June - Sept.
A square-stemmed plant 1 - 3 feet high, found beside brooks and streams, swamps. New Brunswick to Manitoba and southward.
Purple, with 2 yellow spots near the throat; 2-lipped, upper lip 2-lobed, erect; lower lip 3-lobed, spreading; flowers borne on slender stalks from the leaf angles.
Opposite, oblong or lance-shaped, toothed, clasping stem by a heart-shaped base.
