White Alder: Alder-leaved Clethra. Clethra alnifolia.
Heath Family. July - Aug.
Shrub 3 - 10 feet high. Found in low woodlands, thickets, chiefly near the Atlantic coast.
White, in narrow clusters, fragrant.
Alternate, finely toothed, especially toward the tips.
