In connection with the community garden idea, there is a big opportunity for the community use of equipment for canning and drying. Outfits of considerable capacity are not very expensive. They are simple to use and are not likely to get out of order. This makes possible their use by a number of persons; or by an organization paying some of its members to do the work. The unqualified success which the Girls' Canning Clubs have had throughout the country is sufficient proof as to what may be accomplished in this line without very much previous training in cooperation.
