To 1/2 cup chocolate, grated, add 1/2 cup sweet milk and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Boil all together until thick as cream, and let cool; add 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 2 eggs, 2/3 cup milk, vanilla flavoring. Mix well, beat in the boiled mixture, add 2 cups of flour, sifted with a heaping teaspoon of baking powder.
