Heat oven to 350°.

Grease and flour 8-inch square pan.

Stir together

l 1/3 cups Bisquick 3/4 cup sugar

Add

3 tablespoons soft shortening l egg 1/4 cup milk

Beat vigorously 1 minute.

Stir in

1/2 cup more milk 1 teaspoon vanilla

Beat 1/2 minute more.

Pour into pan.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes.

While cake is still warm cover with Broiled Coconut Icing.
