Two cups milk; 1/2. cup sugar; 3/4 cup butter; 3 eggs; 1/22 tablespoon salt; 1 cake compressed yeast; boil milk; add sugar and butter and let cool. Then add the beaten eggs, salt and yeast which previously dissolved in 2 tablespoons water and flour enough to knead. Be careful and not make it too stiff. Knead about 20 minutes and put aside in warm place until it doubles itself. Break off buns and place an inch apart. Let rise again and cut cross in top of each one just before baking. When done and while hot frost (especially fill the cross) with XXXX sugar moistened with cream. Can add raisins if you care too - Mrs. P. S. Skeele.
