A Prof. Hoffman states that from numerous observations in Central Europe, he may conclude that as an average, one degree of latitude is equal to 3 3/4| days in the development of plants, especially in their spring blossoming. That spring advances at the rate of 3 3/4| days for every seventy miles may be true, but it is not true as to the direction of the degrees of latitude on the map.
