Our Western friends rarely send us notices of what is to be, time enough for us to be of any service to them. From Mr. J. T.Allan, of Omaha, we had, on April 1st, notice that Arbor Day in Nebraska would be on April 16th, and that a first premium of $50 and other smaller premiums, for the largest number of trees set out on that day, would be awarded. It is no use to make this announcement now. We only refer to it to show that if our Western friends don't get the aid of this magazine in their various public enterprises it is wholly their own fault.
