Nat. ord., Leguminosae.
Synonym. - Mucuna p.
Cowhage, or Cow-itch.
Characters. - Strong, brown, stinging hairs, that cover the legumes of this plant, and which cause an intolerable itching when placed on the skin.

Part employed. - The setae which cover the pods.
Preparation. - Tincture (proof spirit).
