B. A single drop of the expressed juice of the leaves produces an intense itching and burning, and afterwards inflammation, 152, 111.

C. Pruritus pudendi. Scanzoni*; (H.G.P.)

D. Pruritus pudendi (juice of the root 1 part, water 200 parts), 152, 111.

Remarks

The only preparation of Caladium at present accessible is the tincture of the fresh root. This I have employed to advantage in several cases of pruritus pudendi, and in pruritus ani. This use of the drug was first noticed, I believe, by Scholz of Breslau (referred to by Scanzoni).
