As a protective in zoster, collodium is exceedingly useful. As a basis for further medication, it furnishes the following officinal preparations: Collodium cum Cartiharide; Collodium Flexile. Flexible colli lion has been recently recommended by Scarenzio (131, Oct. '79, 263), a means of preventing the spread of the irritation produced by the application of chrysophanic acid.
