A very strongly odorous substance, secreted by the musk-deer of the Himalaya Mountain region, in Asia. It is antispasmodic, that is, composing to disturbed nerves. Prescribed sometimes for whooping-cough and for convulsions. Dose, five to ten grains, in pill or mixture.
