M\Lo-Glossi, (from Myle 5080 dens molares, and lingua). These muscles are small fleshy planes, situated transversely on each side, between the ramus of the lower jaw and the basis of the tongue; they rise from near the inner side of the dentes molares, and thence run to the basis of the tongue, but are often wanting.

Mylo-hyoides, (from Myle 5082 a grinding tooth, and the hyoid bone,) muscles which rise with a large basis from the inferior part of the lower jaw, and are inserted at the basis of the os hyoides.
