What do the women wear on their heads? What kind of shoes have they?

Do you think they have enjoyed the day's work?

How do the workers feel because the end of the day is near? How has the painter shown it?

2. Composition

1. Write a good description of this picture. Tell who the workers are, what they are doing, how they care for the crop, how they feel about leaving the field.

2. Tell as many ways as you can in which this method of harvesting differs from ours. Tell also how the farms in France must differ from ours.

3. Describe a day during the harvest or threshing season on some farm in your neighborhood. Tell about the work of both men and women.
