Adolf Fick, a German physiologist, born in Cassel in 1829. He received his diploma of M. D. at Zurich in 1852, and was professor of physiology there from 1856 till 1868, and has since rilled the same chair at Wurzburg. He has published Die medicinische Physih (Brunswick, 1857), as a supplementary volume to Muller's version of Pouillet's Elements de physique. His other writings include Compendium der Physiologie des Menschen mit Einschluss der Entieielcehtngsgesehichte (1860), Anatomic und Physiologie (18G2), and Die Naturkrafte in ihrer Wechselbeziehung (18G9).
