Geromc Gerardmer, or Giromeix, a town of France, in the department of Vosges, on the margin of Lake Gerardmer, near the German frontier, 22 m. S. E. of Epinal; pop. in 1866, 6,225. It covers a considerable extent of ground, the houses mostly standing in gardens. It has a large trade in cheese, known as Gerome cheese. Lake Gerardmer is the most beautiful of the inland waters of France; it is oval in shape, about 1 1/2 m. long, and traversed by the river Valogne.
