Stockinette. A knitted woolen fabric, usually ornamented with a fine ribbed pattern, similar in character to that seen in common knit goods. Stockinette is generally napped on one side, and handles soft, full and elastic, but lacks those valuable characteristics of strength and firmness of texture which obtain in a woven cloth.
