Salt Butter may be freshened by churning it with new milk in the proporion of a pound of butter to a quart of milk. Treat the butter in all respects in churning as fresh. Cheap earthenware churns for domestic use may be had at any hardware shop. 2572. CABBAGE-WATER should be thrown away immediately it is done with, and clean water thrown after it, or it will give rise to unpleasant smells. A little charcoal thrown with clear water into a sink will disinfect and deodorize it.
