The fruit of a large tree, found on the Orinoco River, South America. The nuts, which are known commonly as Cream Nuts, are three-sided, with hard shells, and white meat which is very good when fresh, but soon spoils from its abundance of oil. The nuts are packed in a smooth round case, half as large as a man's head, twenty or thirty of them in one case. They fall when ripe, rendering it dangerous to pass under the tree at that time. The monkeys are very fond of them, fighting for the nuts and throwing down the cases to break them.
