A mineral found in veins, very often accompanying lead ore. It occurs both crystallized and massive. The crystals belong to the cubic system, and are either colorless, green, purple, or yellow. When heated it becomes phosphorescent. It is used as a flux, and some varieties are employed for ornamental vessels.
