[L. myrrha.]A pleasant-smelling gum-resin obtained from the sap of the myrrh-tree, which grows in Arabia and Abyssinia. It is used in medicine as a tonic for disorders of the digestive organs, to cleanse wounds, and as a tooth powder when the gums are spongy.
