They absorb some of the plant-food which has been prepared for the crop, and they keep air and sunlight from the cultivated plants, which look sick and weakly in consequence. The hoe is an instrument much used for destroying weeds. On a good farm, land is fairly clean, or free from weeds.-Sea-weed, any marine plant of the class Algae, or any plant growing in the sea.
