Dame-Wort, or Dame's Violet, the Scentless, or Hesperis inodora, L. is an indigenous perennial plant, which grows in pastures and hedges, and flowers in the month of May or June. According to Boerhaave, it is antiscor-butic and diaphoretic, and of great service in asthmas, coughs, and convulsions. It has also been recommended, externally, in inflammations, cancers, gangrenes, and in contagious disorders.
