There is no particular composition for this variety of firework. The pieces are made of the same materials as those discharged on the ground or aloft. They burn equally well on the water as in the air, and to vary their effects it is only necessary to make such an arrangement as shall sustain them, whether diving or floating a$ may be desired, but always they must be of a sort such that water is prevented from penetrating the case and wetting the composition before it has taken fire.
