It matters not what the intention was in the doing of the forbidden act. Intent is not material to constitute the offense. If prejudicial results flow from the unlawful act that is sufficient.17 And the fact that the act or thing complained of may, upon the whole, furnish a greater benefit or convenience to the general public than it take away is no defense.18
