The agent who is also properly called the representative, the servant, the attorney, or delegate, is the one who performs the duties of the agency, acting under authority, direction or appointment of his principal or master. He may be the agent in law where having acted without authority in the first instance, his act is ratified by the person for whom he acted. A sub-agent is the agent of the agent, making the agent the principal of the sub-agent.
