If the above disabilities are by statute made exceptions to the statute of limitations in cases where they are suffered by the plaintiff, the courts cannot by construction extend them to apply to cases where they are suffered by the defendant and not by the plaintiff.1 Thus infancy,2 insanity,3 or coverture4 of the defendant cannot affect the running of the statute of limitations if not provided for by statute.
