Be sure to give someone an April Fool's Egg on the first day of April. This will look like a perfect egg, but it will be empty. When it comes to the table, someone will think he has a nice boiled egg- until he cracks it open.

To make this, you will have to prick a small hole in each end of an egg. Holding it over a saucer, blow in one end so the inside part will come out through the other hole. It takes a long time, and hard blowing, but it is fun only when the egg is completely empty. Rest a while when you are out of breath, and then try again.

It is not necessary to throw away the egg-only of course you will have to eat it yourself because you did the blowing. It will make a good scrambled egg, and if you have never done any cooking, this is a good time to learn. This is what you will need to do:

4 tablespoons milk

Butter (the size of an acorn)

Pinch of salt

Put all these in a double boiler, and beat with an egg beater while it is cooking. When the egg begins to thicken, a spoon will stir it better. Eat the egg as soon as it is thick-do not let it stand for it will dry.

Halloween Noise Makers

Put a pencil or small stick through a spool, and holding it against the windowpane, give the thread wound on the spool a quick pull. It will make a very queer sound on the inside, if you do this on someone's window.

If you would like to startle people when you go out on Halloween night, make a pop gun from paper and take that along.

Start with a piece of newspaper about 12 inches wide and 16 inches long. Fold it in half the short way-so you will have a piece 12 inches by eight inches. Now with the folded edge toward you, bend the right side up to meet the top edge. Fold the top edges down to meet the right side fold (bending the front edge to the front, and the back edge to the back). Fold the point at the left side back inside the paper.-This is the end that will pop out.

Hold the right point in your hand and give the paper a quick snap in the air. This will make the last folded end snap out with a pop.

Ways To Use Paper Fasteners

Movable arms, legs, and heads can be made on paper animals and dolls-by clipping them to the bodies with paper fasteners.

Make a bird in three pieces-the body, and two wings. Cut a small slit on the inside edge of each wing, then folding the two edges over one another, put a paper fastener here to clip a wing to each side of the bird. (One fastener should hold the three pieces.) You can hang the bird by attaching a string to its back.
