Take equal parts of lime water, traw linseed oil, and turps. Well shake the lime water and oil till a cream is formed, then add the turps. Apply liberally with wadding, and wipe off with rag. Clear out all greasiness, and bring up the polish by means of a clean rag made fairly moist - not wet - with methylated spirit. Repeat if required. Should there be any peeling off by reason of the paste ah*eady on, wash off with 2 gal. of warm water, to which has been added a teacupful of common washing soda.
