Fig. 244 shows the usual shapes of rivets for ship, bridge, boiler and tank work. They are designated as follows:

(1) Pan head.
(2) Button or round head.
(3) Countersunk.
(4) Cone or boiler head.
Rivet lengths do not include the head, except in the case of the countersunk rivet.
