Boil bitter-apple, freed from the seeds and cut five parts, with rainwater fifty parts, down to one-half. Strain and dissolve in the liquor gum arabic eight parts, and rock-candy four parts, and lastly, add one part of alcohol. Let it stand for some days, and filter.
