Materials: Cotton poplin 6" x 11 1/2"; Kerr's twist, B; crewel needle; thread No. 60; needle No. 6.
Work the design in the running stitch with the twist. Turn a quarter-inch all the way around to the wrong side and baste. Fold right sides together the short way through the center and baste. Overhand the edges, leaving a small opening for filling with scraps of cloth cut into bits, finger-nail size, or the cotton of milkweed pods. Overhand the opening.
