A kettle cover equipped with the hinge shown in Fig. 1 will not fall off when in place, and can be raised or removed entirely when desired.
One wing of an ordinary hinge is soldered or riveted to the cover and wire clasps soldered to the other wing.
Ill: Wire Clasps on Hinge
It is slipped on the kettle as shown in Fig. 2. The cover is interchangeable and can be placed on almost any kettle.
