Differs from M. effusum, L., as follows: - Panicle close. Palea blunt. Stem rough. Leaves short, linear-lanceolate. 1-4 in. April. Herbaceous annual. Guernsey.
Kceleria vallesiana, Asch. & Gra;bn. - Erect Rootstock covered with dense mat of persistent fibres of leaf - sheaths. Leaves short, turned back, turned over at margins, stiff, bluish-white. 6-15 in. June. Herbaceous perennial.
