Indian Pink.
Arethusa bulbosa. Orchis Family. May - June.
Found in bogs and swamps. Newfoundland south to South Carolina mountains, west to Indiana and Minnesota.
Magenta-crimson, lower lip spotted with magenta crimson and crested with 3 white or yellow hairy ridges; solitary, on stalk 5 - 10 inches high.
Long and narrow, solitary, appearing after the flower opens. Root bulbous.
