Low or Dwarf Cornel.
Cornus canadensis. Dogwood Family. June - July.
Found in woods. Plant 4 - 8 inches high. Labrador to Alaska, south to West Virginia and Minnesota.
Dull white, tiny, in clusters surrounded by 4 white leaflets simulating petals. Berries red in close cluster, edible.
Smooth, oval, pointed, 4 - 6 in a whorl.
