Claytonia.
Claytonia virginica.
Purslane Family. Mch. - May.
A plant 6 - 12 inches high, found in moist, open woods, low meadows. Common west and south.
White veined with pink, or pink with veins of deeper pink; divisions 5.
Long and narrow, width variable. Roots tuberous. C. caroliniana is similar to the preceding, except that the flowers are smaller and fewer, and leaves more oblong.
