Assertions have been raised to the effect that the aluminates are, like any alkali, even the alkaline earths or their carbonates, detrimental to flavor and aroma, which we use in compounding syrups. We insert this opinion for further verifications. Our own practical experience with pure kaolin leads us to believe that it is a harmless clarifying medium.
